AAC History

The first positive steps to establish a Scout Air Activities Base were taken on 26th March, 1972

"The newly formed Manly-Warringah Area held a trial Air Activities Day at Camden, using two aircraft – a privately owned Piper Tripacer and a Cessna 150 (VH-KPO) loaned by Rex Aviation Pty. Ltd. A mixed group of approximately 40 Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, Rovers, Leaders and Parents participated, and in spite of the usual aircraft problems – the Tripacer had battery trouble, and the Cessna 150 suffered from radio problems – the trial was successful".

………and so began an extraordinary legacy for the Scouts Australia NSW, Air Activity Centre !
